We’re looking for an experienced, well-rounded automotive technician who is strong with general repair, suspension, brakes, steering, maintenance, and diagnostics — and who can work independently without needing constant supervision.

The technician we need
What we’re looking for
We need a strong, dependable technician who is comfortable handling a broad range of automotive repair work. Ideal experience includes:
- Brake diagnosis and repair
- Steering and suspension
- Wheel bearings, hubs, ball joints, tie rods, control arms
- General maintenance and repair
- Engine performance and drivability
- Check-engine-light diagnosis
- Electrical diagnosis
- Starting and charging systems
- Cooling systems
- Heating and air conditioning
- Light engine and mechanical repair
- General vehicle inspections
- Proper diagnosis before replacing parts
You do not need to specialize in one particular vehicle brand.
We care most about finding someone who can diagnose problems correctly, perform quality repairs, and work independently.
Requirements
What you should bring
Applicants should have:
- Several years of professional automotive repair experience
- Strong general automotive repair knowledge
- Good diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to accurately inspect vehicles and identify needed repairs
- Own basic professional hand tools
- Valid driver’s license
- Reliable transportation
- Good attendance and reliability
- Clean, professional work habits
- Ability to communicate clearly with management and service staff
ASE certifications are a plus but not required for the right technician.
Advanced diagnostic ability is highly valued.
Compensation
$35–$45 per hourBased on experienceFull-Time position
Pay is based on experience and demonstrated ability.
For an exceptional candidate with strong diagnostic skills and the ability to take a leadership role in the shop, compensation will be toward the top of the range.
About the role
Not an entry-level seat
This is not an entry-level technician position.
We’re looking for someone who can become one of the key people in the shop as the Providence location grows.
The right technician should be comfortable receiving a vehicle, determining what is actually wrong with it, performing the repair correctly, and communicating anything additional that needs attention.
The role will primarily involve consumer cars and light trucks, including SUVs, pickups, work vans, and domestic and import vehicles.
